Design
At webSkillet.com our design philosophy is simple: We work with you to create an engaging, streamlined website that
- Communicates the information your viewers are looking for quickly and attractively
- Conveys your message in a way that complies with accessibility standards, so everyone has access to your message
- Allows you to keep your website fresh and updated without having to enroll in a web programming class
Examples
UE Vermont
This is a basic website, with just a few pages, which allows the organization to communicate about who they are, their basic principles, and their locals around the state of Vermont. The site is fully CSS and XHTML compliant, includes a photo montage of UE members across the top, and integrates photos from a Picasa web album into the front page.

Grassroots Global Justice
The design for this site is based upon the organization's logo, with the addition of a photo montage background in the header. The organization's name is displayed in English but shadowed in Spanish, to give the site a bilingual feel. The design for this content-heavy site is contained almost completely in a "stylesheet," so users can quickly switch between the attractive graphic layout and a "text-only" version that is easy to read and quick to download.

Campaign Websites 2006
In the fall of 2006 webSkillet designed campaign websites for two women who were running for state representative in Vermont, Heather Riemer and Kathy Valloch (these websites are no longer live). In addition to basic design and maintenance, we integrated the Google Maps API so the sites could feature an online map of the district, created a dynamic content management system for news which was syndicated from one site to the other, and created two animated videos to promote their campaigns, which were posted on YouTube and also embedded directly in their websites.
